GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida coach Jim McElwain is holding his final pregame media session Wednesday night after practice.
He’ll provide another update on injured wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland and talk more about the upcoming matchup with LSU.
Follow along for live updates from his comments:
- “We’ve had a couple really good days of practice. Whatever happens, our guys will go out and play hard. This is a fun group to be around. Really good to see guys that are unselfish, guys that are doing what they can to help the Gators win. Just a fun group to be around. I know they’re excited to play in The Swamp, play at home.”
- Injuries: DT Kyree Campbell will be out. “I think there’s an outside chance he might be back next week based on what he had done. He had cleaned up.” … WR Tyrie Cleveland (high-ankle sprain): “To this guy’s credit, he was in there working his tail off to try to get back and play. … I think that speaks for not only him but a lot of guys on this team. But when you’re truly hurt, one thing you can is only make it worse and prolong it. When he’s right and ready he’ll be out there so he’ll miss this game.” … DT Khairi Clark (calf) is not 100 percent, but he should play more snaps this week.
- Worried about potential weather this weekend? “If you worry about stuff like that, I think the big piece is you’ve covered scenarios based on whatever might happen. Whatever it is, we’ll have extra jerseys to wear or whatever it is moving forward. In the end they’ve got to play in it too.”
