Ohio State decimated Rutgers, 56-0, in Piscataway Saturday night. Here’s what head coach Urban Meyer had to say after the win:
On J.T. Barrett:
“It was incredible when they told me he broke Art Schlichter’s record. That was an era that I remember and I grew up watching him play and I remember it was a thought that would never be broken.
“We’re on a roll and we’re also realistic. We appreciate our team coming out and playing. When you have videotape of a team that had Washington up 10-7 in the fourth quarter, that caught our attention.”
On Mike Weber getting involved:
“There’s no doubt we want to get both those cats involved. Now that we know he’s cleared, pain-free. For a while there we had to fight through it, right before training camp they almost had to do surgery on him. He came back fast and had another little setback, but now it’s ‘go.'”
On the performances of some young players:
“We understand that there’s a lot of new players playing out there. Kendall Sheffield in pass defense, Damon Arnette, some of the guys, Jeff Okudah, those guys are getting better. That’s how you get better.”
