Wisconsin’s Brad Davison caught fire vs. Michigan State, and everyone noticed

Playing against one of the best defenses in the nation with a hurt shoulder isn’t a recipe for success.

But don’t tell Wisconsin’s Brad Davison that.

The Badger freshman went off in the second half of the team’s loss to Michigan State on Sunday and nearly got his squad a win.

He had a career-high 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting and was 3-for-17 from 3-point range.

And he did all of it with a shoulder injury that apparently had him wearing a brace under his uniform to keep it from falling out.

On the season, Davison averages 11.5 points per game and has been in double-digit scoring in seven of his last eight games. His previous career high is 20 points and he recently had 19 in the team’s victory over Minnesota last week.

Despite the Spartans leading for most of the contest, Twitter was ablaze with praise for Davison, his shooting and his grit.

Here are some highlights.

And here is some praise from Twitter, where it seems like Davison is being hyped as 1. The next big thing for the Badgers and 2. The next most-hated player around the Big Ten.

Even Stephen A. Smith even weighed in about the strong play by the Badger youngster.
