Wisconsin guard Brad Davison earned his second Big Ten freshman of the week award Monday, after a marvelous three-game stretch against Minnesota, Northwestern and Michigan State.

Davison’s week started at Kohl Center, where the Badgers beat Minnesota, 73-63, in overtime. The freshman logged 44 minutes and scored 19 points go along with four rebounds, two assists and four steals. It was just the beginning for Davison.

Three days later, on the road at Northwestern, Davison helped Wisconsin to a 70-64 win that extended the Badgers’ winning streak to three games. He wasn’t as aggressive a shooter as he was against the Gophers, scoring just five points on 1-for-4 shooting, but he did record a game-high six assists. Davison was saving his best for last.

Finally, with the Badgers hosting the No. 2 Spartans in a nationally televised game Sunday, Davison took center stage. He scored a career-high 30 points on 10-for-19-shooting, in addition to doling out two assists and grabbing three rebounds. It was a memorable performance, one that nearly catapulted the Badgers to a massive upset. Wisconsin lost, 68-63, but not before Davison put on a performance Badgers fans won’t soon forget. He is now the first Wisconsin freshman to score 30 points in a game since Sam Okey scored 30 against Milwaukee on Dec. 10, 1996.

Davison, who also earned conference freshman of the week honors Nov. 26., and the Badgers earned the the No. 9 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will play No. 8-seed Maryland in the second round on Thursday.
