The Dayton Flyers picked up their 20th victory of the season and their 98th in the last four years, routing Saint Louis 85-63 on Tuesday at Chaifetz Arena.
Dayton’s senior class became the all-time winningest class in UD history. They are 98-33.
Star of the game: Charles Cooke led the Flyers with 18 points.
Key stat: The Flyers made 9 of 18 3-pointers (50 percent) and shot 57 perent from the field. They also made 20 of free throws.
Best sign: Josh Cunningham scored 12 points in his first extended action since his ankle injury.
Big picture: The Flyers (20-5, 11-2) remain tied with VCU in the A-10. The Rams beat St. Joseph’s on Tuesday. Five games remain in the regular season.
The Dayton Flyers dominated Saint Louis from start to finish in the first half, building a 41-17 halftime lead Tuesday at Chaifetz Arena. A victory gives the Dayton seniors the school record for career wins. It would be their 98th.
UD’s star: Charles Cooke made 3 of 3 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
Stat of the half: Dayton made 14 of 23 field goals (60.9 percent). Saint Louis made 7 of 29 (24.1).
Big run: The Flyers led 9-4 and then went on a 9-0 run in the next five minutes.
Cunningham update: Sophomore forward Josh Cunningham saw his first extended action since the second game of the season. In his second game back from injury, he played 10 minutes and scored four points.
Better Crosby: Sophomore point guard John Crosby, who struggled in the last game at Rhode Island, played five minutes and didn’t commit a turnover. He made his only shot from the field.
