Flyin’ showdown between Upper Arlington and Wayne canceled

The 16th annual Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop lost its second game on Monday when Upper Arlington informed Flyin’ president Eric Horstman it would not be allowed to travel to the event because of worsening weather.

Upper Arlington, the state’s top-ranked Division I high school boys basketball team, was to have played Wayne in the last Flyin’ game on Monday in a featured showdown of unbeaten teams. Instead, that game was scuttled. One game Saturday also was canceled when Hilliard Bradley wasn’t allowed to travel. Bradley was to have played Spire Academy of Ohio.

Both times school administration made the call to prevent the teams from leaving town.
