Johnny Manziel is the new starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, coach Mike Pettine announced today.
Manziel has started three games this season, including the last two against Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
On Sunday against the Steelers, he passed for a career-high 372 yards and a touchdown. This season, he’s passed for 933 yards, five TDs and two interceptions..
Manziel takes over for Josh McCown, who was out the last two weeks with a rib injury. In seven starts, McCown completed 65 percent of his passes for 1897 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Browns are on their bye week. They return to action Nov. 30 at home vs. Baltimore.
Pettine and Manziel will address the media after today’s practice.
