The New York Giants are off to a miserable 0-4 start. To make matters worse, Odell Beckham isn’t 100 percent.
Beckham is still playing with a tender ankle that he injured during the preseason. He tweaked his ankle in Week 4’s 25-23 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To put insult to injury, Beckham also sustained a dislocated right index finger in the loss to the Bucs.
Giants coach Ben McAdoo said Beckham was “sore” on Monday.
“He’s fighting through a bunch of things,” McAdoo told reporters, per Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.
Big Blue has a plethora of problems. The team is ranked 27th in the NFL in total defense and 30th on offense. Things won’t get any easier with their best player banged up.
The good news is the Giants host the 0-4 Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. An event featuring a battle of the winless. Somebody has to get a win. Or maybe the game will end in a tie, which would be a fitting conclusion with how the season’s gone for both teams.
