Report: NY Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul has shoulder, knee injuries

The New York Giants have been arguably this biggest disappointment of the 2017 NFL season. They have gotten off to a massively disappoint 0-4 start, and now they could be without one of their best defensive players when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5.

Two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul missed practice on Tuesday and Wednesday with shoulder and knee injuries, making his status for Week 5 questionable at best.

To make matters worse for the Giants, they were also without Pro Bowl cornerback Janoris Jenkins (ankle), starting center Weston Richburg (concussion), and All-Pro defensive end Olivier Vernon (ankle) for Wednesday’s practice.

The Giants entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations, but now face the daunting task of defying the odds and overcoming their 0-4 start to somehow find a way to qualify for the postseason. Pulling of such an improbable feat will be even more difficult if their roster is not at full strength.
