Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook’s rookie season is probably over.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero are reporting the Cook has “nearly a complete tear” in his left ACL.
Cook suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Vikings’ 14-7 loss to the Detroit Lions. It was a non-contact injury, and the replay looks awful.
Through three and a half games, Cook was establishing himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL. He came into the game with 288 yards rushing and was averaging nearly 5 yards per carry. Against the Lions, he had rushed for 66 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown prior to the injury.
