The Pittsburgh Steelers bounced back from a loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 3 with a dominant 26-9 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Now, they turn their attention to a Jacksonville Jaguars team who also dominated the Ravens 44-7 two weeks ago but recently fell to the New York Jets 23-20.
It’s taken a few seasons, but the Jaguars have managed to put together a young and talented defense, complete with some impressive pass rushers. Two of those names have apparently grabbed the attention of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who recently praised them during a press conference.
As Hays Carlyon of Gridiron Now quoted, Tomlin said of Jaguars defensive ends Yannick Ngakoue and Dante Fowler Jr. that “their tape is hot.”
It’s hard to argue with that, and the Steelers offensive line is going to be in for a battle against these two. Ngakoue has totaled nine tackles with four sacks and three forced fumbles, while Fowler has eight tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles.
Not only do these two young rushers know how to get to the quarterback, but they’re also making plays that are resulting in the ball getting jarred loose. Expect Ben Roethlisberger to look to get the ball out early for the Steelers in this Week 5 matchup which has the potential to be a fun one.
