Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt has not been on the field since Week 1.
He will be back on the field Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Tuitt could’ve just said he’s excited to join his Steelers teammates, but he instead used a familiar simile to explain how he feels.
“I’m like a chicken with my head cut off right now. I’m just running around, just happy now” Tuitt said, via Penn Live’s Jacob Klinger.
Chickens running around with their heads cut off likely aren’t happy, but then again it’s a stupid saying. If a chicken did somehow manage to run around with it’s head cut off, it would not be for long.
The Steelers, however, are probably as happy as a bear in a stream full of salmon that Tuitt will be able to play on Sunday. He stepped up during the 2016 season, and proved to be one of the better 3-4 defensive linemen in the NFL. His performance resulted in a big contract extension in early September.
In the Steelers’ loss to the Chicago Bears they were without Tuitt, outside linebacker T.J. Watt and right tackle Marcus Gilbert. With all three likely to play on Sunday, the Ravens will be in for a tough afternoon.
