Talks of LeV’eon Bell’s listless start can now discontinue.
The Pittsburgh Steelers running back was the workhorse playmaker we’re accustomed to seeing Sunday in Baltimore. Bell compiled 35 carries for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 26-9 Week 4 win over the Ravens. The running back’s highest carry total since Week 14 of last year.
In addition, Bell had 44 receiving yards.
“I feel like I moved in the right direction today,” Bell said after the game, via NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala.
Pittsburgh’s win against the Ravens was a bounce-back victory following a uninspired performance against a previously winless-Chicago Bears team. The win puts them in sole possession of first place in the AFC North entering Week 5. More importantly, the Steelers look like the clear-cut favorite in the division.
As for Bell, during All 22’s Steelers Facebook Live pointed out that he would eventually regain form as the season wore on. Bell needed to get acclimated with the daily football grind due to missing all of training cam and the preseason. It took Bell four weeks to eclipse 100 rushing yards. The same duration of the preseason.
Bell’s outing was part of of a collective effort in Baltimore. The Steelers’ offensive line provide better holes for Bell to run through and the running back appropriately put fourth his best performance of the season.
