Kyle Davis signs with team in Argentina

Former Dayton Flyers guard Kyle Davis will continue his professional basketball career in Argentina.

The Chicago native Davis will play in the country’s top league for Comunicaciones, which plays in Mercedes, a city of 40,000 in northeast corner of the country.

According to the team’s website, Comunicaciones coach Ariel Rearte saw Davis play at a showcase for the Argentinian national league in Las Vegas, Nev., earlier this month. Davis "showed a lot of intensity and character,” Rearte said.

Davis also competed this month in the 2018 International Basketball Challenge in China.

Davis started his pro career last season in the NBA G League. In 16 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, he averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 18.9 minutes per game.

“I learned a lot from the coaching staff and players and the league overall,” Davis said. “It was a good experience.”

Davis finished his career at Dayton in 2017. He ranks 67th in Dayton history with 820 points.
