Dykstra, 56, was accused of threatening to kill an Uber driver on May 23, 2018, in Linden, New Jersey, the website reported. Union County Superior Court Judge Lisa Miralles Walsh reduced a charge of third-degree terroristic threats to a petty disorderly persons offense and dropped drug possession charges.
Dykstra's attorney, David Bahuriak, argued a search of Dykstra's belongings by Linden police was improper, and there were no witnesses who could say Dykstra threatened the driver, NJ.com reported.
Dykstra will not go to jail but must pay $125 in fines and court fees.
Dykstra was arrested at Linden police headquarters on May 23, 2018 after Brian Lutty, 48, told police the major leaguer threatened him with a gun, according to NJ.com.
After a search of his bags, police charged Dykstra with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine and making terroristic threats, the website reported.
Dykstra played in the major leagues from 1985 to 1996.
