Golf Enthusiast Stanley Allyn Created NCR CC

The creation of NCR Country Club was the concept of Stanley S.C. Allyn during his tenure as president of National Cash Register Corporation, (NCR). Allyn, a golf enthusiast and a member of the PGA's Advisory Committee, wanted the club to be a world-class facility.

Allyn wanted to improve upon the lead established by John H. Patterson, founder of NCR Corporation and a firm believer, that a company should provide recreational facilities and programs for its employees.

Allyn's wish came true. NCR Country Club opened in 1954, with a charming colonial-style clubhouse and with the distinctively different 18-hole South and North courses - both designed by famous Delray Beach, Fla. golf course architect Dick Wilson.

To compliment the links, NCR Country Club has created extensive practice facilities, which include two driving ranges, putting greens and chipping areas. During the off season, indoor practice facilities are also available. The 2004 Golf Shop renovation provided additional, improved space for numerous apparel and equipment lines.

The current 40,000 square-foot clubhouse opened in June 1994 and overlooks the panoramic views of the finishing holes of both course. Dining opportunities can be formal, causal or weather permitting, on the outdoor patio. For larger personal and business events, a full-service banquet and conference center is also available.

In 2001, the club expanded its amenities to include a 4,000 square-foot pool and fitness complex, featuring an Olympic size pool with a casual dining area, and fitness facility with a complete selection of cardiovascular and weight machines.

The membership and staff of NCR Country Club are honored to have been selected to host the 2005 U.S. Senior Open, with honorary chairpersons, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.
