Hartman: Nobody seems surprised Bengals’ Pacman Jones is already back in the news

Cincinnati Bengals fans who had “Day one” in their “When will Adam Jones make his first wrong move this season?” office pool are winners.

The veteran Cincinnati Bengals cornerback, who is said to be taking anger management courses this offseason after again running afoul of the law in January, berated a reporter for asking about Jones’ latest transgression more than once

Many Twitter users met the news without surprise.

Jones has proven to be a talented-but-troubled playmaker since coming into the NFL more than a decade ago.

The Bengals signed him in 2010 after he had been suspended for all of the 2007 season and part of ’08 as a member of the Tennessee Titans then Dallas Cowboys.

He has been involved in several off-field incidents during his time in Cincinnati and played an integral role in the team’s worst on-field moment this century – a meltdown that gave the Steelers and easy opportunity to win a playoff game in Cincinnati in January 2016.

What’s next for Jones remains to be seen.

Owner Mike Brown came down unapologetically in his corner last month, so it seems unlikely he is going anywhere.

Prior to his outburst Monday, Jones said all the right things about being allowed to remain a Bengal.
