Wayne beats No. 1 team in Ohio

Wayne dethroned Gahanna Lincoln, the No. 1-ranked Division I team in the state, with a 67-61 win at the Ohio Scholastic Classic at Ohio Dominican University in boys basketball Saturday.

Xeyrius Williams paced the Warriors with 16 points, Rodrick Caldwell added 14 and Trey Landers had 10.

It marked the first loss of the season for Gahanna Lincoln (14-1) and the eighth straight win for Wayne (12-2).

Xenia 65, Spg. Shawnee 59: Xenia (11-2) won its ninth consecutive game.

Greenville 74, Coldwater 54: Clay Guillozet poured in 32 points, shooting 11-of-13 from the foul line in the final quarter, for Greenville (11-2).

Trotwood 63, Middletown 58: Andre Foster scored 29 points in helping Trotwood (8-5) rally from an eight-point deficit in the final quarter.

St. Mary's Memorial 55, Piqua 48: Colton Bachman had 17 points in a losing effort for Piqua (8-7).

Dunbar 59, Walnut Ridge 49: A.J. Harris tallied 27 points with 7 assists and 3 steals and Terrance Landers had 8 points with 13 rebounds to help Dunbar (11-3) halt a two-game skid at the Ohio Scholastic Classic at Ohio Dominican University.

Yellow Springs 47, Stebbins 46: Isaiah Taylor had 15 points and Kaner Butler scored 9 points in the final quarter to help Yellow Springs (12-3) survive against Stebbins (4-9).

Bellbrook 55, Waynesville 46: Casey Demko paced Bellbrook (7-7) with 14 points. Logan Fruhwirth had 17 points for Waynesville (2-12).

Brookville 55, Arcanum 37: Marcus Brisco led Brookville (6-6) with 22 points.

Twin Valley South 50, Valley View 48: Wes Cole scored 20 points to help Twin Valley South (10-4) edge Valley View (4-9).

Tri-Village 80, Winchester (IN) 41: Colton Linkous had 23 points and Damion Cook added 22 for Tri-Village (14-0).

Miami East 59, Fairlawn 52: A.J. Hickman and Damien Mackesy each scored 17 points for Miami East (13-1).

St. Henry 85, Ansonia 36: Ryan Mikesell scored 20 points with 15 rebounds and Scott Knapke added 15 points as St. Henry (12-1) opened the game on a 28-6 run and cruised to the win.

Girls basketball

Ursuline Academy 59, Fairmont 57: Alyssa Clemente tallied 25 points and Shea Morgan added 21 but Fairmont's (10-6) rally came up just short.

Tippecanoe 72, Stebbins 36: Halee Printz paced Tippecanoe (17-0) with 14 points.

Alter 74, McNicholas 39: Maddie Bazelak had 17 points and Libby Bazelak added 15 for Alter (16-0).

Carroll 81, Roger Bacon 26: Sydney Ingram scored 13 points and Kate Hickey added 12 for Carroll (11-5).

Valley View 69, Oakwood 43: Hannah Thomas paced Valley View (13-1) with 17 points and Hunter Stidham added 16. Sally McMillian tallied 14 points for Oakwood (7-9).

Thurgood Marshall 61, Miami Valley 29: Deja Mims had 16 points and Terren Kelly added 12 for Thurgood (12-3).
