ABC’s telecast of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 24, earned a 4.1 rating, averaging 6,394,097 viewers, according to Nielsen Fast National data.
The telecast was ABC’s highest-rated and most-viewed Indy 500 since 2011.
The rating was up five percent from last year’s 3.9 rating, and viewership also rose five percent from last year’s 6,063,011 average.
Indianapolis led all metered markets with a 12.7 rating, followed by Dayton at 9.9 and Louisville at 8.7. Milwaukee (7.5) and Albuquerque (6.5) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 metered markets were Oklahoma City, 6.4; Cincinnati, 6.2; Kansas City and Fort Myers, 6.1; and Greenville, S.C., 6.0.
