The saga of Johnny Football has gone from the Heisman Trophy, the NFL and now to an intervention via a celebrity gossip website.
TMZ has reported friends of Johnny Manziel told the site anonymously the former Cleveland Browns quarterback is in a 'downward spiral,' with one stating if he continues his ways "he'll die."
Members of Manziel's inner circle tried personally to hold an intervention to discuss his behavior, but Manziel became upset and "flipped out," according to the site.
Manziel's post-NFL drama has been covered extensively by TMZ, which frequently spotted the former Texas A&M quarterback at bars and parties. This led to friends reaching out to the site, hoping the story would shock the quarterback into getting treatment.
Best said by Frank Schwab of Yahoo Sports: "Here's what we have now: A gossip site citing anonymous associates pleading for Manziel to get help, and publicly worrying about his safety and future. It's not getting any better."
