Knockout summer fight show set for Saturday night

Drake’s Downtown Gym is putting on its Knockout summer fight show Saturday night and this year the emphasis is on big.

Headlining the eight-bout annual charity event will be a pair of heavyweights – 6-foot-8 320-pound Flen Hix and 6-foot-3, 250 pound “Mighty” Joe Young. Highlighting the undercard will be a three-round women’s bout pitting Morgan Shrockman and Bryann Delange.

The amateur show’s outdoor ring will be set up under the parking garage at Fifth Street and Patterson Blvd. out, which is just outside the gym and just across the street from the Neon Movies.

Proceeds go to the United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton at the Charles D. Berry Center.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
