Local football camps on tap at area colleges this summer

Three area colleges are set to host football camps this summer.

Here is what to know about plans for those athletes looking to learn more about how to play the game and to show their stuff on the Division I, II or III level.

1. The University of Dayton is hosting youth camps and a high school prospect camp

The first youth camp is June 10-12 with another set for July 9-11.

They are open to grades 1-8 and cost $100 for one camper, $85 for 2-4 campers and $80 for five or more entries.

The prospects camp is set for July 15.

It is open to grades 9-12, costs $35 for one camper and $30 for two or more campers.

2. Urbana will hold elite prospect camps on June 20 and June 27. 

Open to all positions for players in grades 9-12, registration begins at 12 p.m.

The cost is $40.

The Blue Knights will also host a 7 on 7 event July 25.

That will cost $150 per team.

3. Wittenberg is hosting a youth camp June 4-6 and a prospect camp on June 6. 

The youth camp is open to grades 3-9 and begins at 8:30 each morning.

Cost is $100.

The prospect camp is open to players in grades 9-12 and costs $30 for those registering by June 1 and $35 after that.

It will include a tour of campus and facilities as well as football activities and instruction.

Ohio State also has multiple football camps scheduled for this summer.
