As it has done every since 2014, the NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel has sent a list of recommended candidates for head coaching jobs to all 32 teams.
The list, according to former NFL executive Michael Lombardi, features 14 current assistant coaches, one of whom is not Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther.
The list includes six coaches from the offensive side of the ball:
Saints assistant head coach and tight ends coach Dan Campbell
Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter
Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo
Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels
Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy
Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
And five defensive coaches:
Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards
Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia
Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz
Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel
Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks
And the lone special teams coordinator on the list is the Chiefs’ Dave Toub.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell formed the panel in 2014 in the interest of diversity after the league was criticized following a 2013 offseason when all eight new head coach hires were white.
