Dunks by Dayton's Obi Toppin in first 13 games of 2018-19 season

Obi Toppin dunk tracker: List of Dayton Flyers forward’s slams (game by game)

Dayton forward sets the single-season school record for dunks

Toppin, a 6-9 forward from Mount Zion Prep and Ossining, N.Y., scored the first six points of his career on three dunks in the season opener Nov. 7 against North Florida. He set the Dayton single-game record with eight dunks against Detroit Mercy on Dec. 4. He tied a school record by making 11 of 11 shots in a game against Western Michigan on Dec. 19 and dunked six times in the game.

Toppin made SportsCenter’s top-10 plays with a between-the-legs dunk — maybe the first anyone has ever seen in a game at UD Arena — on Dec. 29 against Georgia Southern.

Chris Wright owned the Dayton single-season record for dunks (66 in 2009-10) until Toppin tied his mark Feb. 23 against Saint Louis and broke the record with six dunks against Massachusetts on Feb. 26. Wright still owns the career record (177).

Through 31 games, he has 80 dunks among his 181 made field goals. He’s averaging 14.3 points per game, which leads the team and would rank as the best freshman scoring average in school history if it stands up. He’s shooting 67.5 percent from the field.

Here’s a list of Toppin’s dunks (game by game):
