Ohio State football: Start times for half 2019 season announced

Ohio State football announced the start times for half of its 2019 regular season games Thursday.

The first full season under head coach Ryan Day will kick off at noon Aug. 31 at Ohio Stadium against Florida Atlantic.

That is one of four noon games already on the books, confirming an earlier report Fox Sports intends to emphasize the early window with higher-profile teams this fall.

Ohio State will also kick off at noon in weeks two and three, at home against Cincinnati on Sept. 7 and at Indiana on Sept. 14, respectively.

Then there is the season finale: The 116th edition of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry will begin at noon at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Nov. 30.

Ohio State also announced a pair of night games: Home against Michigan State on Oct. 5 and at Northwestern on Oct. 18.

The game against the Spartans will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN or ABC.

The Northwestern game is an 8:30 p.m. kickoff on a Friday night and will be shown on Fox Sports 1.

Fox will broadcast the FAU, Indiana and Michigan games while the contest against Cincinnati will be on ABC.

Time for the other six regular season games are not likely to be determined until after the start of the season according to an Ohio State spokesman.
