When Dallas Cowboys receiver Allen Hurns snapped his fibula during the first quarter of Saturday’s NFC wild-card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, it was reminiscent of the injury Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann suffered in November 1985 when his leg was broken by Lawrence Taylor of the New York Giants.

"So, when you see a guy like that go down, it hurts," Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott said after the Cowoys won 24-22. "Just seeing how nasty that was, it hurts a lot."
Hurns was hurt after making a 14-yard catch on the Cowboys' second possession of the game, The Dallas Morning News reported. Seattle safety Bradley McDougald fell on Hurns' left leg, snapping his ankle, the newspaper reported.

The injury also affected a young Cowboys fans, Luke McSwain, who wrote a letter to Hurns, WFAA reported.

“I saw the Cowboys-Seahawks game last night. I saw you get hurt. I hope you are okay,” McSwain wrote. “Don't worry, you have the best doctors in the world. I prayed four times for you. You will get way better shortly.”

"Tell Luke I said thanks," Hurns tweeted to the boy's mother, Kim McSwain, adding that he will be ready to play next season.
