“I will say this about Adam Crank: He was looking for any way he could to play,” Vonderheide said. “He’s a tough kid and a competitor, and he’s a little bit of a wreck emotionally right now. But assuming surgery and everything goes well, he will be back and ready for 2019.

Talawanda is 1-1, having beaten Shawnee 34-12 and losing to Badin 38-7. The Braves will host Eaton on Friday night, and the 0-2 Eagles have been outscored 102-7 in their first two games against Greenville and St. Henry.
Crank was 9-of-15 for 81 yards and two interceptions against Shawnee, and he ran 20 times for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Vonderheide noted that his right (throwing) shoulder got dislocated on a tackle, but it was popped back into place and he finished the game.
Teeters, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound sophomore, saw some action in that contest and went the distance at quarterback against Badin. He was 13-of-25 for 154 yards and a TD with three interceptions.
“Tyler’s been playing some safety for us. He would also jump in at wide receiver or running back … he’s kind of a jack of all trades,” Vonderheide said. “He’s a very committed kid. He didn’t miss a workout all summer and had a lot of success at the JV level last year as a freshman.”
