A historic glance at the starting debuts of Bengals QBs

Only eight of the 27 won their Bengals starting debut.

None threw for more than 290 yards, and none threw more than two touchdown passes. Only six threw more than one.

Like McCarron, 16 of the previous 27 first-time Bengals starters were making their NFL starting debuts.

The record for most yards in a Bengals starting debut is held by Turk Schonert, who threw for 290 in a 24-17 loss at Denver in 1983.

The highest passer rating achieved by a first-time Bengals starter is 120.3, which was set in the inaugural season of 1968 by John Stofa in a 24-10 win against Denver.
