Recruiting: Trotwood-Madison star makes his college decision

Trotwood-Madison defensive back Sammy Anderson has verbally committed to Cincinnati

The 247Sports three-star prospect announced his decision in a video shared to social media Friday.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has 31 tackles this season for the Rams, who play St. Mary's Memorial in the second round of the Division III, Region 12 playoffs on Friday night.

He has 17 receptions for 363 yards and seven touchdowns this season, and he returned a punt for a touchdown last week as the Rams beat Wapakoneta 33-21 in a first-round playoff game.

Anderson is rated the No. 53 cornerback prospect in the country and Ohio's No. 22 player for the class of 2020.

He is the highest-rated player in Montgomery County and No. 2 in the Cox Media Group Ohio coverage area behind Fairfield running back Jutahn McClain, who has committed to Kentucky.

Cincinnati has made a habit of recruiting the area since Luke Fickell took over the program three years ago and hired Wayne graduate Marcus Freeman as his defensive coordinator. Former Wayne defensive back Mike Mickens is also on the Bearcats staff after being known as a strong recruiter while coaching at Bowling Green.
