The Cincinnati Reds added another arm to their organization Tuesday by claiming Abel De Los Santos off waivers from the Washington Nationals.
De Los Santos is only 23 but has already logged 371 innings in 173 professional games. The Puerto Rico native signed with the Texas Rangers in 2010 and was traded to the Nats following the 2014 season.
He pitched in two games for the Nationals last season, striking out three and allowing a run in 1 2/3rds innings.
De Los Santos was placed on the Reds 40-man roster and sent to Double-A Pensacola.
