Reds conduct 12th interview as search for manager continues

Reds expected to make hire before end of October

The Cincinnati Reds conducted a 12th interview as they continue a search for a manager, the club announced Sunday via Twitter.

Rocco Baldelli, a former Tampa Bay Rays center fielder who is now the franchise's major-league field coordinator, interviewed with the Reds, according to a report by Mark Sheldon.

Baldelli played for the Rays from 2003-08 and again in 2010. He played for the Boston Red Sox in 2009. He was a career .268 hitter.

Earlier in his coaching career, Baldelli was the Rays first-base coach for three years. At 37, he’s the youngest person to interview for the Reds job.
