The Dayton bullpen was outstanding in game one, as Jayvien Sandridge, Zach Maxwell, and Owen Holt combined for five shutout innings, allowing just one hit after the second inning. Maxwell tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win in his first game with the Dragons.
In the second game, Rogers delivered a two-out single in the second inning to drive in Austin Callahan from second to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead, but the Captains tied the game with a run in the fifth and then scored in the seventh to win.
With the doubleheader split, the Dragons (9-9) are three games behind first place Fort Wayne (12-6) in the East Division of the Midwest League.
