HS Roundup 8/13: Area teams compete at Clark County Invitational

The Springfield boys golf team and the Northwestern girls picked up a win at the Clark County Invitational on Monday.

Hannah Scarberry helped Northwestern finish first. Reagan Speas earned medalist honors with a 94 for Springfield Shawnee.

Luke Wells finished first with a 75 and Lucas Mattison tied for third with an 85 for Springfield. In second Dylan Schetter of Greenon shot a 79 and Josh Calhoun of Northeastern and Brayden Tosi of Kenton Ridge each had 85.

Girls Golf

Champaign County Tourney: Kerrigan Cushman of Mechanicsburg and Kayleigh Boldman of Triad tied for medalist honors at 51. Second was Mazie Reece from Mechanicsburg with a 53.

Riverside 217, Fairbanks 239: Dana Jones of Riverside earned medalist honors with a 47 followed by Kalin Kreglow with a 50. Shelby Jones of Fairbanks scored third with a 52.

St. Henry 192, Coldwater 211: Medalist Ellen Naumann led St. Henry with a 43 and Claire Clune finished second with a 45. Lexi Wright of Coldwater scored a 50 and Sarah Diller at 51.

Greenville 229, West Carrollton 272: Makenzi Glancy led the field with a 52 and Lainey Oswalt added 57 for Greenville. Shanelle Parker shot a 66 for West Carrollton.

Oakwood 199, Tippecanoe 214, Miamisburg 223: Lauren Hapgood led the field with a 43 for Oakwood. Tippecanoe’s Marissa Miller had a 45 and Miamisburg’s Grace Anspach shot a 46.

Boys Golf

Waynesfield-Goshen Invitational: Tied for medalist honors with a shot of 74 were Cole Gilardi from Lehman Catholic and Nick Fischio of Botkins. Austin Boley of St. Marys came in second with a 75 and Cole Maurer of Anna with a 77 for third.

Eaton 183, Franklin 210: Felix Durham tallied a 42 and Andrew Collins a 44 to pace Eaton.

Monroe 178, Northridge 249: Alex Gomia led the field with a 37 for Monroe.

Milton-Union 177, Preble Shawnee 229: Justin Brown led the winning team with a score of 40 followed by Nick Brumbaugh with a 43. In third from Preble Shawnee was Luke Woodward with a 45.

New Knoxville 207, New Bremen 217: Ray Newton and Sam Anspach finished with a 51 for New Bremen.

Girls Tennis

Fairborn 4, Northridge 1: Fairborn’s Michelle Clark posted her first victory of the year in 1st singles 6-3, 6-0. Fifine Marshall lost a tightly contested match at 3rd singles 6-4, 7-5.

Tippecanoe 5, Lehman Catholic 0: Mira Patel and the doubles team of Katy Schultz and Annie Livesay each won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
