HS Roundup 8/23: Fox leads Carroll in season opener

Trent Fox made two rushing touchdowns and passed for three more to carry Carroll in a 49-13 victory versus Stebbins in Thursdays football action.

Carroll staked a 21-0 lead in the first quarter after Fox hooked up with Sam Severt on two passing touchdowns.

Stebbins got on the board in the second quarter with an Austin Womack touchdown pass. Eli Haney and Fox added scoring runs for Carroll in the second.

In the third quarter Fox threw a TD pass to Donovan Lajeunesse and Matthew Eavers added an 8 yard TD run to cap the scoring for Carroll.

Girls Soccer

Dixie 2, Tri-County North 0: Scoring for Dixie was Kaylee Collins and Cheyenne Clouse.

Milton-Union 4, Middletown Madison 1: The goal made for Middletown Madison was by Layla Youtsler. Kristen Dickison made three goals for Milton-Union and Hallie Berberich assisted two.

Lehman 7, Coldwater 0: For Lehman Catholic, Grace Olding made two goals and Lindsey Magateaux had a goal and two assists. Teammate Ava Behr scored in the second half bringing Lehman up to 7.

West Liberty Salem 1, Springfield Catholic 1: Megan Dillon made the goal for WLS and saving 15 goals Rachel McGill to keep the tie.

Boys Soccer

Miamisburg 3, Edgewood 1: Goals for Miamisburg were made by Cole Northern, Aaron Sundermann and Ben Sundermann while Peyton Hornsby and T.J. Davis assisted.

Troy Christian 3, Bethel 1: Nick Schmidt made the goal for Bethel. Jalen Hudgins made two goals for Troy Christian and Connor Peters made one and assisted one.

West Liberty Salem 5, Springfield Central 1: Ethan Cole, Ian Wolfe and Jacob VanHorn made goals before the half leaving them at 3-1. Jack Eggleston and Caleb Siegenthaler each had one assist and Logan Saylor recorded one save.

Girls Tennis

Preble Shawnee 5, Waynesville 0: Alivia Reek from Preble Shawnee held on and defeated Ashley Tudela 7-6, 6-4. Allison Zornes and Michelle Bulach of Preble Shawnee also won their singles.

Sycamore 5, Middletown 0: In doubles Sarah Wittenbaum and Natasha Singh of Sycamore defeated Julia Kovach and Isabel Fonseca 6-1, 6-2. In singles Sycamore’s Sanjana Mahesh defeated Hannah Wilson 6-1, 6-1.

Tecumseh 4, Shawnee 1: In singles Tecumseh ladies, Ashley Fite, Shelby Stacy and Kayla Weight all won their matches.

Tippecanoe 5, Fairborn 0: Amelia Zwierig, Dakota Schroeder and Mira Patel of Tippecanoe all defeated their opponents in singles 6-0, 6-0. In doubles Camillah Jones and Rainey Messinger of Tippecanoe beat their opponents Rita Chien and Katelyn Byezkowski 6-0, 7-6.

Bellbrook 3, Franklin 0: Sarah Rogers racked up 25 straight serves for Bellbrook with 15 aces and 13 assists. Teammate Kira Merkle had 7 kills and 7 digs followed by Nicole Cordonnier with 5 kills.

Coldwater 3, Ada 1: Lauren Gilliland racked up 24 kills, 6 blocks, 2 aces and 13 digs. Katie Alig recorded 10 kills, 3 aces and 14 digs.

Eaton 3, Oakwood 1: Shaylen Perry had 11 kills and Maley Tinstman racked up 25 assists while Gels tallied 16 digs.

Fort Loramie 3, Fairlawn 0: Marissa Meiring of Ft. Loramie had 7 kills and 11 digs. Teammates Maya Maurer and Aleah Frilling both had 14 assists.

Greeneview 3, Madison Plains 0: Maddie Hines led Greeneview with 11 kills. Teammates Ashley Schloss and Caitlin Sweat each had 6 kills while Bryce Ratliff had 21 assists.

Mechanicsburg 3, Triad 0: Emma Dunham of Mechanicsburg had 14 kills and 9 blocks while Elly Schipfer made 9 kills and 7 blocks. Audrey Ayars racked up 22 assists and Mallory Blakeman had 12 digs.

Tippecanoe 3, Piqua 0: Leading Tippecanoe Izzy Crow totaled 38 assists and Rachel Wildermuth recorded 12 kills and 3 blocks. Abby Hughes had 12 digs and 3 aces and Brook Asselage with 15 kills and 12 digs.

Tri-Village 3, Dixie 0: Samantha Shell and Cydnie Stone had 4 kills each and Stone with 3 blocks and Madison Simon with 15 assists and 4 aces.

Vandalia Butler 3, Greenville 1: Emma Klosterman tallied 12 kills while Madilyn Francis made 10 for Greenville. Teammates Brooke Stachler totaled 24 assists and Shelby Herman recorded 21 digs.

West Liberty Salem 3, Bellefontaine 0: For WLS Kaylee Harrison racked up 11 kills, 3 digs, 5 out of 5 serving and 4 blocks. Following close behind teammate Kaitlyn Chamberlain made 8 kills, 4 digs, 12 out of 12 serving and 2 aces.

Botkins 183, Fairlawn 195: Earning medalist honors for Botkins Nick Fischio shot a 39 followed by Kyle Peters of Fairlawn with a score of 46. In third place tie for a shot of 48 Alex Bajwa, Isaac Cisco, Jack Dietz of Botkins and Jackson Jones for Fairlawn.

Bellbrook 166, Madison 195: Ryan Wehner of Bellbrook earned medalist honors with a 38 followed by teammates Benton Miller shooting a 41, Zach Crampton with a 43 and Mayne Lemon scoring a 44.

Catholic Central 203, Mechanicsburg 208: Central Catholic’s Pat Weber shot a 48 and Jack Shoemaker of Mechanicsburg earned medalist honors with a 46.

Cedarville 175, West Jefferson 178: Medalist Joe Thompson of West Jefferson shot a 37 and leading Cedarville with a score of 40 Adam Wood. Followed by Caleb Smith shooting a 44 and teammates Logan Brennaman a 45 and Jadon Horsley tallied a 46.

Coldwater 180, St. John’s 185: Leading for St. John’s Adam Gerker shooting a 39 followed by teammate Grant Csukker with a 48. Nathan Kaiser led for Coldwater and earned first with a 38 followed by Collin Muhlenkamp with a 45.

Covington 208, National Trail 232: Austin Knapp led National Trail with a score of 53 and Sam Roberts with a 56.

Ft. Loramie 171, Houston 185: Zach Pleiman and Mitchell Puthoff were co-medalists shooting a 41 for Ft. Loramie. Leading Houston was Cole Pitchford with a 44 and Collin Walker with a 46.

Ft. Recovery 205, New Knoxville 206: Ray Newton led New Knoxville shooting a 45 and Sam Anspach with a 47. Grant Knapke of Ft. Recovery earned medalist honors with a 44.

Greeneview 178, West Liberty Salem 208: Leading WLS Kenny Harr shot a 48 followed by Patrick Harr with a 49. Garrett Payer scored a 56 for WLS and teammates Tucker Ridenbaugh a 55.

Lima Shawnee 180, Tecumseh 190: Leading Tecumseh in a tie Drew Sarihan, Tyler Dysinger and Ethan Conley scoring a 47 in a losing effort.

Minster 164, Marion Local 218: Medalist Joseph Magoto scored a 36 for Minster and Grant Voisard in second with a 39. Leading Marion Local was Seth Kelch with a 55 and Tim Knapschafer tallied a 61.

Monroe 177, Valley View 179: Alex Gomia lead Monroe with a score of 34.

St. Henry 178, Versailles 182: Match medalist Jack Romer of St. Henry shot a 38 and teammate Rylee Dietsch scored a 44. For second place Connor VanSkyock shot a 41 for Versailles and Alex Keiser with a 45.

Talawanda 174, Little Miami 182: Earning medalist honors from Talawanda was Austin Goerss with a 41. In a tie for second Patrick Geshan of Talawanda with a 43 and Thomas Sweeney of Little Miami.

Fairbanks 227, Triad 237: Kayleigh Boldman led for Triad and earned first with a score of 51 and teammate Anna Nott shot a 62. Coming in with a tie for second, Allison Kise and Mary Weisburn with a 56 for Fairbanks.

Greenville 208, Piqua 214: Leading the field and earning a spot in first, Kelsey Bachman of Piqua shot a 45 followed by Greenville’s Jada Garland with a 46. A tie for third with a score of 53 by Lainey Oswalt and Madelyn Breig of Greenville and Skylar Solan of Piqua.

National Trail 193, Covington 236: Medalist Makenna Jones of National Trail tallied a 39 followed by Caitlin Gilland with a 48 in second. Makena Laird recorded a 52 and Savanna Abner scored a 54.

St. Henry 206, Versailles 236: Medalist Morgan Barlage of Versailles scored a 43 and in second Ellen Naumann from St. Henry. Coming in third overall Claire Clune with a 49 from St. Henry.
