HS Roundup 12/15: Haney, Dickison reach 1,000 point milestone

A pair of area girls basketball players, Morgan Haney and Kristen Dickison, passed the 1,000 career point milestone on Saturday.

Haney led the way for Miami East with 16 points in a 54-41 win versus Arcanum and Dickison paced Milton-Union with 20 points in a 42-27 win versus Madison.

Boys Basketball

Aiken 92, Cin. Christian 83: Miguel Ringer poured in 28 points in a losing effort for Cin. Christian.

Anna 83, Bethel 57: Bart Bixler scored 22 points and Riley Huelskamp 21 to lead the way for Anna. Kendal Jones turned in 18 of his 25 points in the second half for Bethel.

Elida 51, Coldwater 50, OT: Coldwater lost despite double-double efforts from Marcus Bruns and Cole Frilling.

Fort Loramie 37, New Bremen 33: Nick Brandewie scored six of his 15 points in the final quarter to help Fort Loramie secure the win.

Legacy Christian 61, Cedarville 47: Erik Uszynski scored 16 points and Legacy closed the game on a 15-4 run to pull away. Colby Cross chipped in 16 points for Cedarville.

Miami East 54, Milton-Union 52, OT: Will Hudson of Miami East scored five points in the last minute of regulation to send the game into overtime and Parker Heim had a pair of foul shots to put the game away.

Miamisburg 48, Valley View 38: Corey Hartman had all 14 of his points in the second half and Duncan Hall tacked on 10 for ‘Burg.

National Trail 79, Greenon 43: Cameron Harrison led four National Trail players in double-digit scoring with 20 points and Zach Woodall chipped in 18.

Russia 85, Riverside 50: Daniel Kearns recorded 23 points to pace Russia.

Troy Christian 54, Mississinawa Valley 47: Isaac Gray totaled 10 points for Troy Christian. D.J. Howell had 10 for Mississinawa.

Girls Basketball

Anna 59, Houston 34: Breah Kuck shot 9-for-9 from beyond the arc, finishing with 29 points to lead Anna. Kiplyn Rowland tacked on 20 points.

Ansonia 74, Mississinawa Valley 49: Mattie Hiestand netted 18 points for Mississinawa Valley.

Ben Logan 52, Urbana 43: Samantha Rooney recorded 13 points and Alaina Lyons 12 for Urbana.

Catholic Central 54, Cedarville 46: Mallory Mullen scored 17 points and Abbigail Peterson 12 to help Catholic Central knock off unbeaten Cedarville.

Centerville 59, Beavercreek 46: Amy Velasco carried Centerville with 17 points and Cotie McMahon chipped in 16. Maci Rhoades had 11 points for ‘Creek.

Covington 47, Bradford 38: Claudia Harrington had 15 points and Sam Whiteman 14 for Covington. Skipp Miller led Bradford with 15 points.

Dixie 54, Northridge 34: Sydney Creamer recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Dixie. Mckinlee Ruppert added 17 points.

Fort Loramie 57, Jackson Center 13: Ava Sholtis finished with 14 points and seven rebounds for Fort Loramie.

Little Miami 54, Talawanda 34: Kyra Koontz had 10 points with 10 boards in a losing effort for Talawanda.

Mechanicsburg 53, Triad 40: Grace Forrest scored 18 points and Elly Schipfer 14 as ‘Burg pulled away down the stretch.

Monroe 52, Eaton 42: Emily Dungan tallied 17 points and Annika Gels 11 for Eaton.

New Bremen 63, Delphos SJ’s 41: Madison Cordonnier netted 17 points and Kelly Naylor added 13 for New Bremen.

Oakwood 69, Brookville 34: Lauren Hapgood had 23 points and Margie Conrath 22 to lead Oakwood.

Roger Bacon 56, Alter 45: Kourtney Klug scored 14 points and MaKayla Blount 11 in a losing effort for Alter.

Springboro 75, Lebanon 35: Jordan Hobbs had 21 points, Julia Secrist 11 and Olivia Majors 10 to lead ‘Boro.

Tecumseh 54, Kenton Ridge 31: Presley Griffitts paced Tecumseh with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Mae Mastin added 15 points.

Tri-Village 64, Newton 25: Lissa Siler scored 23 points and Emma Printz 17 for Tri-Village. Brooke Deeter had 13 points for Newton.

Valley View 38, Bellbrook 33: Abigail Dickson dropped in 15 points to pace Valley View.

Waynesville 50, Eastern Brown 37: Marcella Sizer scored 24 points and Rachel Murray chipped in 14 for unbeaten Waynesville.

Wrestling

Firebird Wrestling Classic: Graham won the tournament, with Fairmont coming in fourth and Eaton fifth. Nolan Gessler, Trace Braun, Dawson Show, Chris Kelly, Nick Moore, Alek Martin, Jeff Thomas, Isaiah Stickley and William Mannier each had individual wins for Graham.
