HS Roundup 1/5: Hensley career-high leads Miamisburg in win

Miamisburg rode a hot start and a career-high performance from Brett Hensley in an 86-56 win versus visiting Troy in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Hensley finished with 30 points, Corey Hartman had 13 and Duncan Hall 10 for ‘Burg.

Jaden Owens tallied 16 points and Caillou Monroe 12 for Troy.

Boys Basketball

Anna 68, Marion Local 67: Bart Bixler scored 20 points and Griffin Doseck 19 to lead Anna in a rally victory. Nathan Bruns poured in 28 points for Marion Local.

Belmont 59, Cin. Woodward 55: Kendall and Logan Moore combined for 35 points to lead Belmont.

Botkins 70, Newton 37: Jaydon Wendel tallied 17 points and Tyler Free and Spencer Heuker added 12 apiece to lead Botkins. Ryan Mollette netted 15 points for Newton.

Brookville 75, Tri-County North 45: Wade Turner turned in 22 points for Brookville. Manny Willis tacked on 17 points and Jacob Gudorf 13 points with nine assists and nine rebounds.

Carroll 61, Alter 51: Austin Schafer chipped in 21 points, Simon Jefferson added 15 and Matt Cogan 12 and Carroll pulled ahead in the second half. Brady Uhl led Alter with 13 points.

Dunbar 75, Tol. Woodward 53: Gregory Packnett and Eric Smyth put up 17 points apiece and Martel Smith tacked on 15 to lead Dunbar.

Fairfield 58, Kings 38: Zavian Ricks recorded 23 points, going 5-of-5 from the field and 11-of-13 from the foul line, for Fairfield.

Fenwick 46, Valley View 35: C.J. Napier finished with 26 points for Fenwick.

Lima Shawnee 78, Coldwater 64: Marcus Bruns had 22 points with 11 rebounds in a losing effort for Coldwater.

Miami East 57, Riverside 52: Sam Zapadka scored 15 points and Miami East drained 16-of-19 free throws to earn the rally victory.

Minster 57, Ottoville 47: Mike Ketner put up 20 points and Jarod Schulze scored 17 points with 13 rebounds for Minster.

National Trail 77, Jefferson 40: Cameron Harrison had 23 points, Travis Hunt 13 and Hunter Michael 11 for National Trail.

New Bremen 47, Mississinawa Valley 30: Bryce Blickle netted 13 points for New Bremen. Blake Scholl scored 10 points for Mississinawa.

New Knoxville 47, Ada 44: Jared Osborne led New Knoxville with 17 points, Sam Anspach added 13 and Patrick Covert 10.

Stivers 88, Miami Trace 55: Jordan Williams scored 14 points, Allen Lattimore 11 and Da’Juan Allen and Doug Spear 10 apiece for Stivers.

St. Henry 83, Lima Bath 32: Zach and Caden Niekamp combined for 30 points to lead St. Henry.

Centerville 67, Bellbrook 28: Cotie McMahon chipped in 12 points to lead Centerville.

Covington 60, Arcanum 50: Samantha Whiteman scored 24 points and Morgan Lowe added 11 to help Covington move to 12-1 overall. Taylor Gray had 13 points for Arcanum.

Eaton 48, Ross 30: Annika Gels recorded 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Bailey Shepherd added 14 for Eaton.

Fairmont 50, Tol. Notre Dame 39: Madeline Westbeld finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Fairmont. Madison Bartley added 13 points and Makira Webster 12.

Fort Loramie 60, Botkins 29: Marissa Meiring led Fort Loramie with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Taylor Ratermann tacked on 14 points. Loramie improved to 11-1 overall.

Greenon 56, Triad 39: Reagan Ware poured in 29 points, Sierra Potter pitched in 11 and Katie Pry added 11 rebounds for Greenon.

Kenton Ridge 75, Springfield Shawnee 33: Mikala Morris poured in 44 points in an outstanding performance for Kenton Ridge.

Legacy Christian 80, Miami Valley 28: Emma Hess had 24 points, Kathleen Ahner added 23 and Legacy connected on 21 3-pointers in the win.

Madison 41, Dixie 23: Mckinlee Ruppert recorded 12 points in the loss for Dixie.

Mechanicsburg 65, Cedarville 59, OT: Emma Jones scored 17 points, including a few key free throws down the stretch, to lead ‘Burg. Grace Forrest and Elly Schipfer added 15 apiece. Maggie Coe carried Cedarville with 37 points.

Middletown 61, Colerain 51: SaMill Calhoun scored 21 points, Addison Bess added 14 and Breyon Wright 11 to lead the Middies.

Milton-Union 45, Carlisle 42: Kristen Dickison poured in 25 points, Olivia Brown hauled in 13 rebounds and Milton-Union held off a Carlisle rally. Sidney Morris chipped in 14 points for Carlisle.

Northridge 33, Middletown Christian 31: Loraine Reeder netted 14 points for Northridge, which rallied after trailing 10-1 in the first quarter.

Northwest 73, Talawanda 30: Samantha Cain and Sante Williams scored 15 points apiece for Northwest. Kyra Koontz tallied 10 rebounds for Talawanda.

Purcell Marian 47, Badin 44: Emma Broermann put up 25 points but Badin fell victim to a Purcell Marian rally.

St. Henry 54, Bradford 31: Allison Siefring and Cora Stammen each scored 12 points to lead St. Henry. Austy Miller had 18 points for Bradford.

Sycamore 42, Lakota East 39, OT: Megan Hatfield had 10 points in a losing effort for Lakota East.

Tecumseh 84, Jonathan Alder 40: Corinne Thomas tallied 22 points and Presley Griffitts pitched in 16 to lead five players in double-digit scoring for Tecumseh.

Troy 42, Fairborn 35: Macie Taylor totaled 22 points and Tia Bass 11 points with 11 rebounds for Troy.

Ursuline Academy 42, Lebanon 35, 3OT: Kendall Folley led Lebanon with 20 points in the tough loss.

Valley View 65, Oakwood 52: Aubrey Stupp and Lauren Legate each had 17 points to lead Valley View. Lauren Hapgood and Kylie Neff netted 14 points apiece for Oakwood.

Waynesville 51, Preble Shawnee 30: Marcella Sizer scored 15 points and Lynzie Hartshorn had 11 to lead unbeaten Waynesville. Jenna Lovely put up 11 points for Preble.

West Liberty-Salem 38, Southeastern 10: Selena Weaver led the charge with 18 points for WLS, which held Southeastern to two points in the first half.

Swimming

Best of the Nest Tournament: Chaminade Julienne placed first in boys, followed by Fairmont and Bellbrook. On the girls side Fairmont won, followed by Bellbrook and CJ.

Wrestling

Clash of Clark County: Tecumseh took first, Greenon second and Kenton Ridge third in the invitational.

Valley View Invitational: Both Graham teams competed at the tournament, with Graham finishing first and Graham Black seventh.

Boys Bowling

Coldwater 2850, Minster 2354: Brett Butler rolled a 415 series and Michael Schoenherr and Isaac Osterfield each had a 223 game to help Coldwater remain unbeaten.

Girls Bowling

Coldwater 2469, Minster 2220: Alison Fox bowled a 212 game to help Coldwater move to 6-0 in conference play.
