HS Roundup 9/11: Morton leads Northmont in win

Brandon Morton poured in four goals to lead Northmont in a 7-0 win versus visiting Springfield in boys soccer action on Tuesday.

Morton, a co-captain, netted his first goal in the first minute of play.

Eric Corbett, Sam Henne and Justin Menker added a goal apiece for Northmont.

Alter 2, Badin 0: Kofi Darkwa put Alter on the scoreboard and Dominic Ruffolo added an insurance goal for Alter.

Bethel 4, Tri-County North 0: Nick Schmidt drove in a pair of goals, Mavlud Pazilov had a goal and assist and keeper Nolan Flomerfelt recorded his third shutout for Bethel.

Carroll 5, McNicholas 0: Conner Osterholt scored two goals with an assist to help Carroll improve to 7-0.

Dixie 2, Carlisle 1: Corbin Potter netted one goal and Cooper Gentry knocked in the go-ahead score for Dixie.

Temple Christian 5, New Knoxville 5: Joseph Baende and Chris Cover had two goals apiece for New Knoxville. Brody Bowman scored four goals to pace Temple.

West Liberty-Salem 5, Miami East 2: Ian Wolfe and Jacob VanHorn led WLS with two goals apiece and Ethan Cole added the final score.

Girls Soccer

Bethel 3, Tri-County North 0: Darani Wenrick, Ellie Daniel and Brooke Reece each had a goal and keeper Hannah Marzolf recorded the shutout for Bethel.

Lehman Catholic 3, Milton-Union 1: Grace Monnin, Ava Behr and Lindsey Magoteaux each scored a goal for Lehman.

Monroe 0, Bellbrook 0: Cassidy Kelly notched the shutout for Monroe.

Girls Tennis

Lehman Catholic 4, Celina 1: Claire Larger, Sarah Gibson and Angela Brunner each picked up a singles victory for Lehman.

Miamisburg 5, Wayne 0: ‘Burg won a fourth straight victory overall, dropping just a single game in the win over Wayne.

Northridge 4, Madison 0: Charlie Fuduloff filled in at third singles to help Northridge win its second match of the week.

Oakwood 5, Franklin 0: Lily McClosky, Sarah Hall and Katie Ritschel swept the singles matches for Oakwood, which improved to 8-0.

Tecumseh 4, Spg. Shawnee 1: Ashley Fite, Emilee Morris and Shelby Stacy swept the singles matches for Tecumseh.

Tippecanoe 5, Piqua 0: Amelia Zweizig and Mira Patel each had 6-0, 6-0 singles victories to pace Tippecanoe.

Valley View 4, Brookville 1: Lilly Holbrook and Kayla Weaver picked up singles wins for Valley View. Emma Burton won in second singles for Brookville.

Boys Golf

Bellbrook 172, Carlisle 193: Benton Miller finished with a 40 and Zach Crampton a 41 for Bellbrook. A.J. Keeton had a 43 for Carlisle.

Cedarville 185, Madison Plains 185: Adam Wood was the medalist with a 37 for Cedarville, which won on a fifth-man tiebreak.

Fairfield 159, Kings 167: Chandler Kellum, Logan Murphy and Jack Parnell each carded a 38 for Fairfield.

Fort Loramie 169, Botkins 205: Zach Pleiman led the way for Loramie with a 39. Alex Bajwa paced Botkins with a 47.

Greeneview 166, Madison Plains 169: Mason Witt posted a 37 and Eli Beekman a 40 for Greeneview.

Minster 167, LCC 188: Grant Koenig led the field with a 41 for Minster.

Newton 164, Covington 204: Chet Jamison shot a 37 for Newton. Grant Humphrey and Jack Shell each had a 48 for Covington.

North Union 180, Ben Logan 186: Ethan Ricketts and Garrett Allen each had a 45 for Ben Logan in a losing effort.

Talawanda 169, Little Miami 181: Trey Hubbard led the field with a 39 to help Talawanda improve to 9-0.

Triad 191, Mechanicsburg 207: Coy Knotts tallied a 46 for Triad. Jack Shoemaker led ‘Burg with a 41.

Troy 160, Tri-County North 174, Greenville 192: Holden Scribner posted the low score of 33 for Troy and Ryan Dowling added a 40.

Miami East 198, Bethel 240, Covington 256: Paige Lawson paced Miami East with a 42 and Kearsten Kirby added a 49.

Piqua 194, Butler 216: Jada Garland of Greenville and Hailee Perry and Breanne Kroecker of Butler tied for medalist honors.

Girls Volleyball

Anna 3, Fort Loramie 2: Anna rallied to win the final two sets in a close match. Emily Austin had 25 digs and Maya Maurer 24 assists for Fort Loramie.

Dixie 3, Carlisle 1: Samantha Shell had 13 kills with 17 digs and Madison Simon tacked on 16 assists.

Eaton 3, Preble Shawnee 0: Maley Tinstman tallied 11 assists with three aces and Annika Gels added 11 digs for Eaton.

Franklin Monroe 3, National Trail 0: Tristan Bowers recorded seven kills with five assists and Angel Bowers added 11 digs in a losing effort for Trail.

Mechanicsburg 3, Cedarville 0: Emma Dunham had 17 kills with eight blocks and Mallory Blakeman added 12 digs for ‘Burg.

Minster 3, St. Marys 0: Brooke and Kaitlyn Wolf led Minster with 18 assists apiece.

Urbana 3, Indian Lake 1: Emily Skelley had 18 kills, 16 digs and two aces to pace Urbana. Taylor Adams tacked on 46 assists and 17 digs.

West Liberty-Salem 3, Catholic Central 0: Alex Burton led WLS with 10 kills, 15 digs and one ace while Breann Koons added 11 digs with 27 assists.
