HS Roundup 4/12: Northmont softball slugs six long balls in win

Northmont blasted six home runs on the way to a 17-5 win versus Springfield in softball on Friday.

Hannah Seagraves tallied three homers, Kassie Kelemen had two and D.J. Shepherd one.

Carmynn Bonner struck out six while picking up the win.

Maecie Burkhardt homered for Springfield.

Baseball

Anna 4, Minster 1: Wil Luthman tripled and homered, scoring a pair of runs to lead Anna at the plate. Kyle Evans added two hits with two RBI and Jacob Robinson picked up the win in a complete-game outing.

Ben Logan 4, Jonathan Alder 3: Keegan Wilson singled in the game-winning run for Ben Logan in walk-off fashion. Trace Tevis went 2-for-2 and Tanner Perkins picked up the win in relief.

Centerville 5, Lebanon 3: Centerville scored a run in the fifth and sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Jared Lieberman picked up the win, moving to 4-0. Morgan Colopy tallied two hits with two RBI and Lieberman had a pair of hits. Kody O’Connor led Lebanon with two hits.

Dayton Christian 5, Eaton 4: Dylan Bower led off the seventh inning with an infield single before eventually coming around to score the go-ahead run for DC. Andrew Dreier had two hits with two RBI and to lead the way and Bower pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to seal the win.

Fort Loramie 5, New Bremen 4: Fort Loramie rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win. Nathan Raterman finished 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead the way. Justin Tenkman went 2-for-4 for New Bremen.

Indian Lake 12, Tecumseh 6: Lake broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning with eight runs. Blais and Seth Hale each scored a pair of runs for Tecumseh.

Northeastern 14, Greeneview 4: Grant Hodson and Michael Wilson plated three runs apiece and Jake Nichols picked up the win on the mound for Northeastern. Jack Nix and Braydan Dobney each went 2-for-2 for Greeneview.

Springboro 19, Wayne 1: Calvin Walters blasted a home run and finished with three RBI to pace ‘Boro. Matthew Dapore added two doubles with two RBI and Adam Berry finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored. Mason Wonderly brought in the lone run for Wayne.

Tri-County North 8, Tri-Village 5: Liam Downing doubled and drove in two runs and Clayton Finney was 2-for-4 with two RBI to pace TCN, which pulled ahead early with three runs in both the first and second innings.

Waynesville 6, Madison 0: Bryce Stone struck out 14 in a complete-game two-hit shutout for Waynesville. At the plate Jonas Boggs, Ryan Papanek, Landon Beachler and Alex Hurley each had multiple hits.

West Liberty-Salem 16, Cedarville 0: Zack Glock tossed a no-hitter through five innings and WLS collected 15 hits in the win. Jacob Vanhorn finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Ethan Larson was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Glock helped his cause with three RBI and a run scored.

Softball

Badin 8, Alter 1: Leah Krause went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Kortney Cummins doubled and drove in one to lead Badin. Dana Anderson doubled and brought in the lone run for Alter.

Coldwater 13, Houston 6: Grace Stammen recorded four hits, including a double, to lead the way for Coldwater, which finished with 17 hits in the game.

Jonathan Alder 10, Ben Logan 0: Lynzee Cronkleton had a pair of hits and Olivia Roose doubled but JA handed Ben Logan its first loss.

Mechanicsburg 18, Madison Plains 1: Megan Alspaugh and Hanna DeLong each swatted a home run for ‘Burg, and Audrey Ayars tripled twice and added a double. Alspaugh also doubled and led the team with four RBI.

Monroe 4, Bellbrook 2: Alyssa Wagner improved to 9-0, striking out 12 in her outing for Monroe. Maddie Grace added a pair of hits and Bri Rose drove in two runs. Randi Holder had a double with two RBI for Bellbrook.

National Trail 9, Ansonia 1: Gracie Jones went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Skyler Ward was 2-for-3 with three RBI for Trail. On the circle Davlyn Werner struck out six in a complete-game outing.

New Bremen 19, Fort Loramie 14: Kira Bertke drilled two homers, and Marissa Topp, Taylor Paul, Abbi Thieman and Hannah Tenkman each had one home run for New Bremen. Ellie Holthaus went yard for Fort Loramie.

Triad 10, Catholic Central 3: Holly Alvoid tripled and Shelby Sheets recorded a pair of hits for Triad, which scored eight runs in the first inning to take control early.

West Liberty-Salem 22, Cedarville 4: Hallie Strapp tripled twice and drove in six runs, Kelsey Day homered and plated three and Sydnee Payer picked up the victory in the circle to lead WLS. Grace Jacobs homered and drove in two for Cedarville.

Boys Volleyball

Carroll 3, Chaminade Julienne 0: John Bruns finished with 19 kills and 11 digs, Tyler Goecke had 20 assists and Cannon Tucker and Max Herrman chipped in seven kills apiece for Carroll. Andrew Barnes had 18 kills and A.J. Murray 28 assists for CJ.
