HS Roundup 9/13: Packnett paces Dunbar with four touchdowns

Greg Packnett scored his fourth touchdown with 45 seconds remaining to help Dunbar edge Ponitz 42-33 at Welcome Stadium in Thursday football action.

Dunbar scored 20 unanswered points to open the game off of two Packnett TD runs and a James Murray TD run.

Ponitz had a pair of fumble recovery touchdowns in the fourth quarter from Donyea McNary and Travis Hall to pull within one point, but Packnett’s final touchdown sealed the win for Dunbar.

Alter 3, Dayton Christian 2: The two goals made for Dayton Christian were by Mickey Smith, assisted by Ethan Orme, and David Hallock, assisted by Luke Reid. Jake Haines, Kofi Darkwa and Austin Brogan made three goals for Alter to put them in the lead.

Carroll 7, Wayne 0: Anthony Vazquez and Conner Osterholt each made two goals for Carroll and Ben Del Cid had two assists. Carroll now has a record of 8-0-0.

Greeneview 5, Franklin-Monroe 1: Gavin Anderson netted a pair of goals for Greeneview. Ethan Coppess had the lone goal for FM off a penalty kick.

Lehman Catholic 5, New Knoxville 1: Jose Rabadan scored the goal for New Knoxville with an assist from Joseph Baende. Keeper Josh Dietsch made a total of eight saves throughout the game.

Monroe 5, Franklin 0: Vincente Zepeda posted a goal and two assists and Ben Griffis added one goal with one assist for Monroe.

Newton 3, Bethel 1: Tristan Stewart scored twice for Newtown. Aiden Flomerfelt had the lone goal for Bethel.

Temple Christian 6, Allen East 2: Sam Sharik poured in five goals to lead Temple Christian.

Twin Valley South 2, Tri-County North 0: Aaron Clark scored off a Brayden Marker assist and then Marker scored off a Clark assist for TVS.

Girls Soccer

Anna 1, Lehman Catholic 0: Making the goal for Anna was Taylor Noll and Magen Dieckmann assisted. Keeper Savanna Hostetler racked up 12 saves and one shut out. Anna’s record is now 7-0-1.

Bethel 2, Newton 1: Faith Wiley and Darani Wenrick scored for Bethel and assists were made by Natalie Moorman and Rachel Larson.

Botkins 2, Coldwater 1: Boston Paul paced Botkins with a goal and an assist. Scoring for Coldwater was Janelle Halterman in the first half of the game.

Greeneview 3, Dayton Christian 1: Faith Rutherford made both goals for Greeneview and Josie Faris had one assist. The goal for Dayton Christian was Holly Garrett.

Twin Valley South 4, Tri-County North 0: Scoring for TVS was Abby Roberston with two goals followed by Kassidy Whaley and Allison Bassler with one goal each. Makiah Newport made three assists throughout the game.

Greenville 4, Tippecanoe 1: Winning for Tippecanoe was the doubles team of Claire Wint and Annie Livesay with a score of 6-1 and 6-0. Natalie Milligan, Emily Marchal and Abby Swenson of Greenville all won their singles matches.

Middletown 3, Hamilton 2: Arianna Layne and Hannah Wilson both won their singles match for Middletown and in doubles Patterson and Pearson won their match 6-2, 6-4. Leading for Hamilton was Ella Dollenmeyer who won in singles.

Monroe 5, Taylor 0: Julia Peterson, Renee Lyons and Kaytlyn Etler all won their singles match for Monroe and both doubles teams beat their opponents 6-0 and 6-0.

Preble Shawnee 5, Madison 0: With set scores of 6-0 and 6-0, Allison Zornes and Alivia Reek both won their singles match. In doubles the team of Lauren Smith and Grace Deaton won against Madison’s Audrey Wills and Shelley Osterday.

Tecumseh 4, Northwestern 1: Tecumseh swept up three wins in singles with players Ashley Fite, Emilee Morris and Shelby Stacy. The win for Northwestern was in doubles with teammates Hannah Swensen and Brenna Aldredge.

Cin. Christian 3, Lockland 0: Emily Hesselgesser had 10 kills, Elizabeth Bowling tacked on 11 assists and Rylee McWhinnie added six aces for CC.

Coldwater 3, Minster 0: Annalise Harlamert set up 39 assists and Lauren Gilliland had 19 kills and 13 digs.

Eaton 3, Brookville 0: Shaylen Perry led the court for Eaton with eight kills and 2.5 blocks followed by Maley Tinstman who made 24 assists.

Fairbanks 3, Cedarville 0: Abigail Sheridan led Cedarville with nine kills in a losing effort. Match scores were 8-35, 7-25 and 14-25.

Fort Loramie 3, Botkins 0: Leading for Fort Loramie was Aleah Frilling who racked up 33 assists and 3 serves. Teammates Alyssa Wrasman and Jada Drees each made 10 kills while Wrasman also had three serves.

National Trial 3, Bradford 1: Angel Bowers and Brooke Johnson each had three aces while Tristan Bowers and Jenna Petitt each had two for National Trial. Lexi Stiner led with 15 kills and Madison Hathaway had 11 digs.

Northmont 171, Xenia 192: Alec Avdakov carded a 41, including five pars, and Brayden Hobert had a 42 to pace Northmont.

Northwestern 3, Urbana 1: Emily Skelley posted 15 kills, 13 digs and three aces and Mackenzie Bean added 13 kills with 23 digs for Urbana.

Oakwood 3, Valley View 0: In set score of 27-25, 25-23 and 25-19, Anna Millard led Oakwood in serves and Stephanie Joseph led for the team in defense.

Coldwater 190, New Bremen 213: Earning medalist honors was Nathan Kaiser of Coldwater with a score of 42 followed by teammate Alex Wourms with a 44. Leading for New Bremen was Cole Hemmelgam who shot a 48.

Graham 152, Ben Logan 175: Andy Milligan of Graham shot a low of 29 and earned first overall. Leading for Ben Logan was Ethan Ricketts who recorded a 35 followed Garrett Allen and Bryce Loomis who tallied a 45.
