Seven Dragons named Midwest League all stars

The Dayton Dragons will be represented by seven players in the Class A Midwest League All-Star Game.

Named to the Eastern Division team on Wednesday were catcher Tyler Stephenson, outfielders T.J. Friedl and Michael Beltre, and pitchers Scott Moss, Wennington Romero, Tony Santillan and Aaron Fossas.

The Great Lakes Loons, the defending league champs, will host the 53rd MIdwest League All-Star Classic on Tuesday, June 20 at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.

The Dragons (36-21) are at the Lansing Lugnuts in the second game of a seven-game road trip tonight. Dayton is in second place in the Eastern Division, two games behind West Michigan and one game ahead of third-place South Bend with 13 games remaining in first-half play. The top two teams in the division earn playoff spots.

Santillan currently is on the 7-day disabled list with a tender shoulder.
