Springboro to send off baseball team headed to state championship

The public is invited to join the supporters of Springboro High School’s baseball team sending off the team to the state championships.

On Thursday, the team is scheduled to go down South Main Street, Ohio 741 in Springboro, shortly after 1 p.m.

“The public is encouraged to attend, wear blue and white, make posters, and show their support for the Springboro Panthers’ Baseball Team,” according to a press release issued Wednesday by the school district.

Springboro will be playing at 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, at Canal Park in Akron against the team from Mentor High School, east of Cleveland.

With a win on Friday, the Panthers would advance to the championship game on Sunday, June 9 at 10 a.m. at the same field.

The team (26-6) won its first Division I District and Regional Championships, as well as another GWOC National West Title.
