New University of Cincinnati coach John Brannen announced his staff Saturday. It included Gee, Sean Dwyer and Tim Morris.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Jayson, Sean and Tim as well as their families to the University of Cincinnati," Brannen said in a press release. "It was important to hire coaches that were the right fit for our program. We were able to hire a group of men of tremendous integrity first and foremost. They also all bring the energy and passion in recruiting and player development that will help to continue to elevate Bearcats basketball."

Gee was Clark County’s Mr. Basketball in 1984 as a senior at South High School when he helped lead the Wildcats to a 20-0 regular season. He spent last season at Winthrop as an assistant coach. He was a head coach at his alma mater, the University of Charleston, from 1996 to 2003 and at Longwood University from 2013 to 2018. He has a career coaching record of 202-175.

In a 2013 interview, Gee credited his coach at South, Wayne Wiseman, and former South assistant coaches Michael Carter and Jim Scoby for laying the foundation for his coaching career.
