Springfield senior Quincy Scott wins D-I state 100

Springfield High School senior Quincy Scott, a disappointing fifth in the Division I state track and field long jump, made up for that in a spactacular way by winning the 100 meters.

Scott’s late surge overtook at least two places and he won convincingly in 10.66 seconds. The defending state runner-up in the long jump, he was fifth (23-5) in an event dominated by area jumpers. Centerville senior Yariel Soto won the long jump (24-2.75) and pole vault (15-6) and Butler senior Daiton Sharp was fourth in the long jump (23-6.75).
