Top-ranked dual-threat QB commits to Buckeyes

Tate Martell joins Miamisburg's Josh Myers in Ohio State's Class of 2017

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ top-ranked 2017 recruiting class added another gem Sunday night.

Tate Martell, the top dual-threat quarterback in the class, announced his commitment to the Buckeyes via Twitter. Martell, of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, is 5-foot-10, 203 pounds. He is a four-star recruit, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Last season he passed for 32 touchdowns and had just six interceptions. As a sophomore, Martell tossed 40 TDs and just two interceptions.

Martell, the top-ranked player in Nevada, is the No. 33 player overall by the 247 Sports. He is the 14th member in the Buckeyes' 2017 class, which also includes Miamisburg offensive lineman Josh Myers, a five-star recruit.
