Trotwood-Madison rallies late to win first state boys basketball title

The top-ranked Rams outscored second-ranked Columbus South 17-5 in the final five minutes to emerge with a 77-73 victory for the school’s first state championship.

Amari Davis led the late run and finished with 24 points. Sammy Anderson scored 20 and Carl Blanton 17.

South led 68-60 and did not score in the final 3:45 of the game.

The Rams (28-2) trailed 40-35 at halftime, but rallied and finished their third straight trip to the final four with the championship.
