Wright State nonconference foes revealed; Raiders to open on road

The Scott Nagy era at Wright State officially will begin on the road.

The Raiders announced Tuesday their nonconference schedule, including the season-opener at Southern Illinois on Nov. 11.

Wright State will play its home-opening contest Nov. 15 against Miami (Ohio) before playing host to Toledo four days later.

Nov. 21-27 the Raiders will host the Wright State Invitational, an event set to include Ohio Dominican, Cal State-Bakersfield, North Dakota and North Florida.

“This nonconference schedule will be competitive and entertaining for our fans,” Nagy said in a release. “Area teams such as Miami and Toledo along with a new look at new teams in the tournament fashion will enable our fans watch us prepare for a tough Horizon League slate in January and February.”

The Raiders will have road games at Georgia State, Penn State, Loyola (Ill.), Kent State and Murray State.

They will play their last home nonconference game Dec. 13 against Urbana.

The Horizon League schedule will be released at a later date.

Nagy was hired April 4 after a successful 21-year run at South Dakota State.
