Wendy's will bring back its spicy chicken nuggets, thanks in part to a social media nudge from Chance the Rapper.

The fast-food chain removed the item from its national menu in March 2017, although a few markets such as Austin, Texas, and St. Louis, kept the dish.

But demand for the spicy snack continued to simmer such that Wendy's on Saturday tweeted that if fans generated 2 million likes on the social network for their tweet that the spicy nuggets would return.

That afternoon, Chance the Rapper liked the Wendy's treat himself and added his own plea for Wendy's to relent: "Positive Affirmations for today: I WILL have a good day, I Will succeed today, Wendy's WILL bring back spicy nuggets at some point please please Lord let it be today," he tweeted.

The musician, who has more than 8 million Twitter followers, evidently stoked the response and by late Sunday, the tweet had surpassed 2 million.

Wendy's quickly confirmed fans' victory tweeting out that "Spicy Chicken Nuggets are coming back! ... "We don't know when yet, gotta figure it out, but soon."

Chance the Rapper wasn't done, suggesting that Wendy's should time the return of the menu item to when his new album drops in July.
