Big drop in temperature coming by weekend

QUICK-LOOK FORECAST

  • Lots of clouds, a few light showers possible overnight
  • A few showers Tuesday, unseasonably mild
  • Big drop in temperatures coming by the weekend

Skies will be mostly cloudy as clouds continue to stream in from a large storm system developing across the Plains, StormCenter 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Temperatures will slowly drop back through the 50s and into the middle 40s overnight.

“A few light showers or sprinkles will be possible tonight as a warm front moves into the area,” Elwell said.

Tuesday: Skies will be mostly cloudy with some showers possible, especially west of I-75. Highs will top out in the lower 60s.

Wednesday: It will be breezy and mild, but quite wet as a cold front slowly crosses the area. A soaking rain of up to an inch will be possible by the evening. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s before falling late.

Thursday: Look for sunshine along with a few clouds as conditions will be breezy and cool with highs in the middle 50s.

Friday: Lots of sunshine is expected but cooler air will continue to filter into the area. Highs will only reach into the upper 40s. Clouds will be on the increase late in the day or early evening.

Saturday: A storm system moving in from the upper Midwest will spread clouds and scatter showers into the Miami Valley by late Friday night into early Saturday.

As much colder air arrives with the cold front Saturday morning, some of the rain showers may mix with or briefly change to snow showers before ending.

No snow accumulation is expected.

High temperatures will reach into the lower 40s early in the day but fall into the 30s during the afternoon.
