Breezy, chilly weather arrives this weekend

After a freezing cold Friday, the weekend will start off sunny and a little warmer, with a high around 42 degrees, but also blustery this afternoon with gusts as high as 25 to 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Overnight, the breezy winds will continue as clouds will build up again. Temperatures won’t fall much, with lows around 34 degrees.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, a little bit warmer and blustery again, with gusts rising as high as 33 mph in the morning before gradually falling in the afternoon. Highs will be around 48 degrees.

Overnight, winds will continue to decrease, and after midnight so will the clouds. Lows will dip down to around 28 degrees.

On Monday, it will be mostly sunny with highs near 47 degrees.

Overnight, though, clouds will build back up and winds will gradually increase leading up to a chance of rain starting just before dawn on Tuesday.

Lows will be around 39 degrees.
