The Hunter’s Moon will be big and bright this weekend!

The Hunter’s moon is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon.

If you remember, the Harvest moon fell on Friday the 13th this year, which was rare. The next time a full moon will fall on Friday the 13th is 2171.

The Hunter’s moon will become full at 5:07 p.m. Sunday. It will be noticeable this weekend because skies will remain clear.

You also will notice a lot of “light” during a time when the daylight hours are getting shorter and night is getting longer. The reason is because the Hunter’s moon will rise right around the same time that the sun sets! This means bright moonlight will shine all night during the weekend. The moon won’t set until 8:16 a.m. Monday.
